Flowers are a romantic, joyous and exquisite medium. Often with a contemporary twist on the traditional, Sue enjoys nothing more than creating the perfect unique bridal bouquet or, at the other end of the scale, an enormous arrangement for a concert stage. Not content with the mainstream elements and materials in floral art, she might use silk wrapped wire scribbles, gold painted agapanthus buds, silver beet that has gone to seed, succulents, unripe plums and dead lichen-covered limbs from her own ancient magnolia grandiflora. Not all in the one arrangement, of course. Sue’s floral work showcases her designer’s eye with a witty sophistication and a real delight in the eye-catching possibilities of working in this most beautiful of media.
